St Simons inshore fishing charters and Jekyll Island inshore fishing charters target species in one of the most unexploited inshore fishing habitats on the East coast. Jekyll Island Redfish, St Simons Island Sea Trout and Flounder are the targeted species and are plentiful.
Redfish (Red Drum)
The fishery for Redfish in the Golden Isles is among the best on the East Coast with huge schools marauding the flats and foraging for food. With a generous slot and catch limit, we target these fish year round with the most exciting action coming in the fall. To catch these fish requires the angler to use stealth and skill. Once hooked these fish provide a great fight and exciting action. Commonly found around oyster beds and mud flats they are one of the most challenging fish to catch.
Speckled Sea Trout
In the Golden Isles the Sea Trout are plentiful. The peak fishing time for these fish are the fall and winter. Good numbers of quality fish and a variety of locations to fish for these sight feeders makes for some great table fare once located. We routinely catch the limit of 15 fish per angler and come back to the dock with a cooler full of fish. Popping Corks with live shrimp produce the best results but artificial bait produces good numbers as well depending on the water conditions and time of day.
These stealth hunters are always fun to catch. We target these fish in the same areas as Sea Trout and Redfish but we will occasionally move out to sand bars and points to drift fish for them. One of the most delicious fish to eat these are always a favorite catch.
The crafty Sheepshead found inshore around pilings and structure will rob you blind without you knowing it. You will be fishing on credit with a bare hook and not even know it. Challenging and fun to catch make this a popular inshore and offshore target. Great table fare and abundant during certain times of the year make this on of our most popular inshore fishing trips.
